Careers for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders

We are committed to significant and sustainable employment of First Nations people in Ventia and by our subcontractors. 

Recruitment and retention of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders is the focus of Ventia’s Employment Parity Initiative (EPI). The EPI team helps break employment barriers and create a culturally safe environment that fosters employee retention and advancement. 

The EPI provides several supports to candidates and employees:

  • Outreach to individuals and communities to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply for jobs with Ventia
  • Assistance to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people apply and be job-ready, including assistance with transportation and interview readiness, pre-employment checks, certifications, uniforms and more
  • Ongoing support during employment, to help ensure our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees are supported in their roles and encouraged and supported to advance professionally in their careers 
  • Supporting an increase in the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders in our business.
