Ventia are currently seeking an Asset Engineer to assist in developing and implementing design review processes, checklists and quality standards to enhance overall design quality on the new Torrens to Darlington Project. This role will see you in a permanent fulltime role based in Flinders street, Adelaide. 
This role focuses on ensuring optimal performance asset performance, durability, and efficiency while adhering to safety, environmental and regulatory standards. The Asset Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, and operational teams to support the seamless integration and management of tunnel systems and assets. 
The Asset Engineer will be responsible for establishing data and asset information systems related to the delivery of maintenance on the T2D Motorway, supporting implementation of computerised maintenance & asset management systems and managing the transfer of construction stage data into the motorways operational stage systems. Post motorway opening, the role will be responsible for system maintenance and updates to these systems.

The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

  • Oversee the lifecycle of tunnel infrastructure assets, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural components. Ensure assets meet design specifications, operational requirements, and durability standards. 
  • Work closely with design and construction teams to integrate asset management principles during the design and build phases. Ensure operational and maintenance requirements are considered in the early project stages. 
  • Coordinate and systematically validate the transfer of construction stage data into the motorways operational stage systems. 
  • Support the development of design decisions through preparation of whole of life models. 
  • Review design and as built drawings and ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all assets are captured and documented in asset management system. 
  • Maintain an asset register and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. 
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders on asset-related matters. 
  • Identify and assess risks associated with asset deterioration, operational issues, or failure, and implement mitigation strategies. 
  • Assist in the development and configuration of Asset Information Management system (Maximo) 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for tunnel assets to minimize downtime, maximize efficiency, and extend asset life. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of asset management plans and strategies. 
  • Assist in preparing budgets for asset management activities, including lifecycle cost analysis, maintenance programs, and asset replacement planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Asset Management, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in asset management and system implementation, preferably within the infrastructure industry. 
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical or structural discipline project delivery. 
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards such as ISO550001 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in asset management software and data analysis tools, particularly Maximo or similar systems. 
  • Demonstrated system implementation experience and change management system experience. 
  • Experience in data transfer and validation processes. 
  • Experience in configuration and utilisation of GIS and spatial tools with computerised maintenance and asset management systems. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation techniques. 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
