The Opportunity
Join Ventia as a qualified Carpenter at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), where you'll play a key role in delivering essential maintenance services under the AGFMA contract. This hands-on position involves reactive repairs, preventative maintenance, and minor modifications across hospital facilities helping ensure safe, functional environments for staff and patients.
The Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) provides facilities management services to over 5,000 government-owned sites across 48 South Australian agencies. Ventia works in partnership with local businesses to deliver these services 365 days a year, supporting communities across the state.
This is a permanent, full-time position based on-site at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woodville South, SA 5011, working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry and trade-related tasks within specified timeframes and quality standards, based on drawings, templates, and instructions.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs, maintenance, and minor modifications in line with safety and compliance requirements.
- Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely, and assist with non-mechanical maintenance and construction activities.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including photographic documentation uploaded to company systems.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and the service delivery team to support smooth operations.
- Complete tasks within time and budget constraints, escalate issues as needed, and contribute to safety culture and continuous improvement.
About You
- Trade qualification in Carpentry. (Certificate III or equivalent)
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Current White Card. (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check. (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience in carpentry maintenance and new works, ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks within time and budget constraints.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
