Ventia is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of the South Australia Prisoner Movements and In-Court Management Services (SAPMICM) contract. This key role is responsible for managing all core finance functions including budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable, while ensuring strong financial governance and compliance.

 

Working closely with operational teams, you’ll provide financial leadership and strategic insights to support performance and continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proactive approach to change will be essential as the contract evolves into its next phase of service delivery.

 

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Cavan office, offering stability and long-term career development within a leading infrastructure services company.

About the role:

  • Financial Management & Compliance – Oversee month-end consolidation, accurate cost allocation, P&L reporting and ensure a compliant balance sheet with reconciliations.
  • Forecasting, Budgeting & Cost Control – Manage financial forecasting and budgeting, ensuring responsible cost management while providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Accounts & Payroll Administration – Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate billing, compliant purchasing practices and efficient payroll processing.
  • Continuous Improvement & Operational Efficiency – Drive strategic enhancements by optimising financial processes, strengthening metrics and embedding forward-looking initiatives.
  • Leadership & SHEQ Compliance – Foster a high-performance team culture while ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards, risk management and best practices across finance operations.

 

About you:

  • Education & Qualifications – Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or equivalent experience (CPA/CA preferred).
  • Technical Expertise – Advanced knowledge of SAP, relevant accounting standards and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Word.
  • Skills & Experience – Proven expertise in project finance, including value creation, profitability analysis, people management, negotiation and effective communication.
  • Leadership & Core Competencies – Demonstrated ability to align with Ventia values, foster resilience and collaboration and drive a high-performance culture within financial operations.
