Fire Compliance Coordinator

Ventia is seeking a Compliance Coordinator to join the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA). You will be accountable for establishing and integrating a systematic quality process for managing Ventia’s compliance to MBS-002, regarding the generation and on-time submission of the Form 3 to the relevant building owners. This role will see you located in Adelaide (Metro) in a 12 month fixed term position.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Consulting key subject matter experts within the broader Ventia business and government authorities to become the AGFMA SME representative.
  • Developing an Improvement Plan for approval by the Ventia Health Leadership team which includes:
    • Identification of Form 3 requirements (# of Form 3 required for Health annually).
    • Developing a suitable Form 3 process (end to end).
    • Developing cost effective systems to support the process.
      • Reporting internal and external.
      • Tracking the generation, completion, review and submission of Form 3’s.
      • Tracking the status of outstanding defects and non-conformances.
      • Establishing a method of formal reporting to each client through an established template, to ensure the risk of non-compliance is passed through to the building owner.
    • Developing associated documentation to enable process rollout and training to key stakeholders including:
      • Form 3 Procedure.
      • Form 3 Work Instructions.
      • Form 3 Status Report templates.
    • Identifying Form 3 Training requirements.
  • Delivering the Improvement Plan.
  • Reviewing and reporting on improvement opportunities post rollout of the Improvement Plan.
  • Delivering improvements to the process including any documentation updates.
  • Providing handover following completion of the above to ensure sustainable Form 3 coordination into the foreseeable future of the AGFMA contract.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g. Fire Safety Systems Compliance and Audit).
  • Experience and ability to interpret relevant legislation and policies
  • Experience in a regulation and compliance environment.
  • Strong understanding of AS1851-2012 “Routine service of fire protection systems and equipment” and it’s application in Class 9a buildings.
  • Beneficial to have a strong understanding of Ministerial Building Standard MBS-002 (specifically experienced in governing compliance to ESP maintenance and Form 3 reporting).
  • Current Driver Licence and ability and willingness to travel.

Ventia has been awarded the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) for the Government of South Australia. On behalf of more than 47 government agencies across South Australia, the Arrangement covers asset management for over 4,500 government-owned facilities such as schools, hospitals, and police stations.
