About the role
Ready to elevate your career? Ventia is looking for a motivated, experienced SHEQ Advisor with a passion for promoting safe and healthy work practices and a keen eye for managing risk.

 

Located at Olympic Dam SA, and reporting to the SHEQ Manager, this customer facing role is pivotal to supporting our activities. You will be instrumental in promoting a positive health and safety culture and driving continual improvement initiatives amongst our workforces.

 

This is an autonomous position within a geographically dispersed team, offering an excellent work-life balance with 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster (12-hour shifts, 15:13 roster). Flights from Adelaide airport to Roxby Downs (return) are included.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with our clients, subcontractors and Ventia colleagues.
  • Conduct audits and inspections ensuring compliance to Ventia’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct reviews of the operational risks at a site level.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Site Manager and Ventia team in implementing SHEQ processes and procedures, as well as investigating accidents and incidents.
  • Performing risk assessments, evaluating control measures, and recommending improvements
  • Developing and implementing HSE procedures.

 

Skills and experience

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety. (Required)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. (Required)
  • Experience in mining; quarry work or drilling an advantage. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a field-based safety advisor role. 
  • Qualifications and experience in conducting and leading incident investigations –ICAM. 
  • Understanding of safety risks and control processes.
  • Onsite training and assessment experience.
  • Implementing change and driving continual improvement with cross functional stakeholders.
