Senior Project Accountant

Ventia is looking for a Senior Project Accountant to join our Defence Base Services (DBS) team. In this role, you will work closely with Defence Operations teams, providing valuable financial insights to drive business performance, cost savings, and process improvements. Key Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide financial insights to managers and actively investigate variances to targets.
• Conduct regular meetings with EMOS Managers and site supervisors to drive targets and proactively address any issues.
• Review financial results monthly and assist in preparing financial analysis for business cases.
• Identify opportunities for improvement to the P&L and actively manage financial risks and opportunities.
• Assist with the completion of balance sheet reconciliations and manage working capital effectively.
• Educate and mentor contract personnel in finance processes, enhancing their understanding and capabilities.
• Champion key financial processes and ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS15.
• Support the Finance Manager in completing monthly financial deliverables and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in: Business, Finance, Commerce, or Accounting. (CA or CPA qualification preferred)
• Strong understanding of financial governance, reporting, and processes.
• Experience with SAP (preferably FICO) and financial software.
• Ability to manage large datasets, work under pressure, and influence stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across teams.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
