Opportunity
Ventia is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Subcontractor Coordinator to join our dynamic team and support the delivery of facilities management services across South Australian government agencies under the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangement (AGFMA) contract.

 

We work in close collaboration with a diverse network of local subcontractors – including small to medium businesses, Indigenous enterprises, and social enterprises – helping to drive investment and employment across the state. The Arrangement covers asset and facilities management for a broad portfolio of government-owned sites, including schools, hospitals, and police stations.

 

In this role, you will oversee and support subcontractor activities across the full lifecycle – from contract development and establishment to performance monitoring and administrative coordination. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our subcontractor network is empowered, well-coordinated, and supported to deliver high-quality facilities and asset management services that meet the needs of South Australian communities.

 

Please note: This role will require some intrastate travel to the areas covered in the Subcontract Coordinators portfolio.

The primary responsibilities of your role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinate the engagement of subcontractors in collaboration with Procurement, Commercial and Operations teams.
  • Provide support to the Operations teams in the development and negotiation of contracts for services, incorporating pricing and Statement of Work (SOW) elements.
  • Ensure compliance with Ventia policies and procedures and head contractor requirements for Subcontractor engagement.
  • Coordinate the control and subcontract management activities, in collaboration with the Operations teams ensuring performance monitoring and management is conducted, administered and recorded in systems.
  • Ensure financial and cost management of subcontract activities is conducted in accordance with head contract requirements.
  • An audit program is established, implemented, and managed, incorporating responsibility for corrective actions and business improvement initiatives.
  • Management and resolution of disputes with subcontractors.

 

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary or trade qualifications in an applicable discipline.
  • Knowledge of construction/facilities management, project and program control principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
