Trade Assistant – Indigenous-Identified Opportunity
Ventia is proud to offer an Indigenous-identified opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to join our team at Modbury Hospital under the AGFMA contract.
We are seeking motivated First Nations Australians to take on a full-time Trade Assistant role supporting our internal trades team across Electrical, HVAC, Hydraulic, and Minor General Building Works.
About the Role As a Trade Assistant, you’ll work alongside skilled tradespeople to carry out maintenance, repairs, and minor modifications. You’ll operate tools and equipment safely, follow procedures, and help ensure our facilities run smoothly and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with trade-related tasks based on drawings, templates, and instructions
- Supporting breakdown and preventative maintenance activities
- Operating machinery and tools safely
- Maintaining accurate records, including photographic documentation
- Communicating effectively with the service delivery team
- Contributing to a proactive safety culture through monthly SHEQ interaction.
Work Schedule
This is a permanent full-time role based at Modbury Hospital, with hours aligned to operational needs.

Requirements
- Willingness to undertake a Ventia Pre-Employment Medical (including drug and alcohol screening)
- National Police Check (required for Defence Base Pass; assessed case-by-case)
- Ability to follow procedures and work within a team
- Current driver’s licence
