About the Role
We are on the hunt for a talented Finance Administration Manager to play a key role in our exciting journey. In this newly created role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business, both internally and externally, to ensure accurate of financial reporting. You will lead a team of 8 and provide support and guidance to your direct reports, ensuring that all financial processes are executed efficiently and accurately.
• Accountability for the core finance activities on the contract such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, quoting and billing.
• Implement strategies that drive a culture of responsible cost management within the contract.
• Become expert in tools and processes used by Finance Admin team and ensure in line with group strategies (incl Ariba, SAP, Digital Timesheets etc)
• Responsible for the end-to-end process in regard to procure to pay at contract level
• Be an inclusive leader who can maintain and further enhance the culture of collaboration and togetherness within our Auckland Council team
About You
To be successful in this role, you need to have a strong understanding of Project Accounting principles (qualified by either degree or experience.) Having a solid project accounting background and have operated in financial/accounting role in the construction industry, with vast exposure to relevant accounting techniques, estimates, and project completion. Along with:
• Proven experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Exceptional influencing and negotiation skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management
• Strong leader who has a continuous improvement mindset
• Systems savvy – SAP and/ Power BI experience is an advantage
• Track record of developing financial acumen in team members and non-finance staff
• Ability to lead change in challenging circumstances
• Exceptionally organised, detail-focused, with a knack for resourcefulness, strong follow-through & a drive to turn ideas into action
• Proven ability to collaborate seamlessly with staff and management across all levels
• Superb written and verbal communication
