About the role
Ventia is currently recruiting for Accommodation Clerks to support on-base accommodation services for Defence personnel. This role involves managing bookings, check-ins/outs, maintaining records, coordinating inspections, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

Lead the charge in room booking and allocation for personnel posted or transiting through the base

Track and manage keys like a vault master (arrival, departure, and safe storage)

Coordinate cleaning, maintenance and respond to service requests

Keep records sharp: occupancy stats, rank-room reports, logbooks, inventory and condition checks

Liaise with leadership to align accommodation with rank and availability

Perform quality room inspections to ensure everything is functional and welcoming

Welcome deliveries, manage IT programs related to bookings, and assist visitors and trades
About you
-
1+ years’ experience in hospitality or accommodation
-
A diploma or degree in hospitality management or a related field is advantageous.

Proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping systems

Strong communication and customer service skills

Respectful and inclusive approach to working with diverse communities

You take pride in delivering high-quality work safely and reliably. You follow established procedures, actively look out for your teammates, and understand that safety is a shared responsibility. You contribute to a culture where safety incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported promptly and constructively.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police check.
