About the role 

Join Ventia, in collaboration with the Australian Defence Force, as an experienced Driver within our Transport Services team.   

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)  

• Driving Defence Members to and from appointments locally or in Melbourne. 

• Vehicle operator maintenance including cleaning, inspecting, basic fault finding, minor operator repairs and tyre wheel changing on all vehicles licensed and qualified to operate. 

• Conduct non-technical inspections on fleet vehicles. 

• Carry out mail duties such as sorting, distribution & delivery between bases. 

• Basic paperwork and filing. 

About you  

• 1+ years’ experience in a similar role 

• A valid Australian driver's license is essential 

• Experience in operating a range of vehicles, preferably in a similar environment 

• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles  

• Skilled in route planning and navigation, including the use of GPS and maps 

• You take pride in delivering high-quality work safely and reliably. You follow established procedures, actively look out for your teammates, and understand that safety is a shared responsibility. You contribute to a culture where safety incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported promptly and constructively. 

• Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Check.
