Stretch your capabilities in this new SHEQ Advisor role (due to an internal redeployment) within Ventia’s Telecommunications sector.
This is a permanent full time position offering flexibility and ownership of your role focussing on projects in the SE QLD region. Ability to travel as required to meet role specific accountabilities.

What you will be doing
- Participation on HSE consultative committees
- Maintain key client relationships to a high standard
- Advise project on SHEQ issues and enquiries
- Enter records into Vensafe (incidents, hazards, inspections and actions)
- Maintain records in accordance with legislative requirements, workplace standards & processes
- Preparation of SHEQ specific documentation (procedures, forms, safe work method statements, toolbox talks, SHEQ Alerts etc.)
- Undertake quality assurance and in accordance with contract requirements (100% of work initially and then according to sampling requirements)
- Monitor & report on quality of works via audits, reviewing non-conformances and corrective actions ensuring prompt closure
Required Skills and Experience
You must be able to demonstrate experience within a similar role (or within heavy industries or construction environments). It goes without saying that you will be self-motivated to succeed and drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvements.
- Tertiary qualifications in OHS/WHS
- Experience with return to work
- Experience in providing SHEQ administrative and systems support
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- Current drivers licence and construction white card
- Lead auditor training (preferred)
- ICAM incident investigation training (preferred)
- Training in environment and/or quality management systems (preferred)
