The Role
Ventia are seeking a Chef to join our Defence Base Services contract. Reporting to the Head Chef, this position will see you based at RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook WA. In this role you support the kitchen operations and food service to deliver great customer service to Australian Defence personnel within RAAF Pearce. You may also need to travel to other locations as required.


This position is a full-time permanent role, working 38hours per week over a 5-day week (including weekends).


The shifts you will be working will consist of the below.

  • Morning Shift: 05:00am - 01:00pm 
  • Afternoon Shift: 11:00am – 07:00pm


The payrate for this position is $29.30 per hour.


To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.


Key duties, but not limited to:

  • Support the Sous Chef in management of the overall preparation & delivery of meal services
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, & barbeques
  • Ensure menu variations, allergen and religious requirements are followed
  • Participate in regular stocktake and inventory control
  • Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean, sanitised, well-maintained and presentable
  • Maintain noticeboards ensuring material is accurate and relevant


Requirements:

  • Commercial Cookery qualification
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Level 2 certification – Highly regarded 
  • Experience managing large commercial kitchens
