Climate Lead

About the role
 

At Ventia we are passionate about driving sustainability and managing climate resilience for us and our clients. Hence, we are seeking a Climate Lead to lead the development and implementation of Ventia’s Credible Transition Plan. This plan will seek to achieve our science-based targets and progress as well as integrate our climate risk and opportunity management to support value creation and differentiation for Ventia.

Duties:

• Lead the development and implementation of Ventia’s Credible Transition Plan (CTP)
• Lead Ventia’s net zero strategy including ensuring up-to-date targets, to inform Ventia’s enterprise strategy
• Assess trends and regulatory developments, benchmarking and reporting our progress and opportunities
• Communicate the CTP and measurement of implementation to stakeholders including Ventia’s executive 
• Collaborate with sustainability, operational, finance and supply chain teams in identification of initiatives, development of business plans, engagement and metrics to achieve the CTP
• Lead the development of Ventia’s Climate disclosures, ensuring alignment with required frameworks, best practice and investor expectations
• Be Ventia’s subject matter expert in climate scenario analysis and climate risk and opportunity identification and management processes
• Collaborate with Group and Sector risk, finance and operational teams to advance climate risk management, quantification, resilience, and reporting

About You

• Demonstrated strategic capability
• Strong understanding of net-zero & carbon accounting concepts, climate governance frameworks and stakeholder expectations
• 5-10 years leadership in sustainability / climate risk/ net-zero strategy 
• Strong understanding and demonstrated experience of TCFD/ climate reporting
• Degree qualified in sustainability, business/economics, or related discipline
• Strong project management and analytical skills
