Trades Assistant

Ventia is seeking a proactive Trades Assistant to join our growing team within the Telecommunications Wamarra E&I division. This exciting field-based role offers a permanent, full-time position servicing the South Australian regions, based out of our Cavan shelter fit-out facility.

As a Trades Assistant, you will play a critical role in assisting with the construction of modular shelters and supporting electrical and HVAC systems/aircon support systems, including tasks like aluminium framing, conduit work, vent fixtures, and cable management, all within the scope of telecommunications infrastructure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead in the construction of modular shelters.
• Ensure all sites are clean, safe, and that all works are documented.
• Complete work to the required standards and expectations.
• Carry out minor works related to facilities upkeep and maintenance repairs.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience working as a Trade Assistant, ideally in facilities management or telecommunications.
• Competence in cable management and installation of vented/ducted fixtures.
• Experience with power tools and construction equipment.
• Handy person skills with experience in basic home maintenance, including fixing door fixtures, locks, and other minor repairs.
• White Card (or willingness to attain one).
• A valid driver’s license.
• Flexibility to travel within Metro & Regional areas, with potential overnight stays when required.
