Experienced Mechanical Estimator

Confluence Water is the exciting Joint Venture of Downer, Jacobs and Ventia, and is one of three consortia engaged to deliver services under the Sydney Water Partnering for Success (P4S) Program. Confluence Water provides design, capital works construction, maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney’s northern region which stretches from Sydney Harbor to the Hawkesbury River including the Northern Beaches and the Hills Shire area. Confluence Water is Sydney Water’s partner in providing outstanding services to Sydney’s northern communities over the next ten years.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our high performing team at Confluence Water. This key role is responsible for managing and developing cost estimates to cover the scope of works for various construction and maintenance projects in partnership with Sydney Water. The Mechanical Estimator provides expert advice and prepares estimates, cost planning, high level budget estimates and provides support during the construction phase to our project teams as required This is a 10-year program of works and provides stability and career opportunities. Head Office is in Chatswood near the train station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Estimating Lead, this role sits within the Program of works. The successful candidate will provide accurate, timely, and high-quality cost estimating services to Confluence Water projects.

This will be achieved through:

• Estimating for projects within water & waste water infrastructure, ranging from initial high level cost assessments to target cost development.
• Create and uphold estimating systems, processes, tools, and protocols to enhance estimate accuracy throughout project in various phases.
• Be involved in the tendering process, including review & challenge of the contractors’ tender costs.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary Qualification (or Diploma) in Quantity surveying, engineering, project management or a related discipline (Experience in Water/Wastewater sector preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise in the mechanical estimation of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in cost estimation for large multidisciplinary programs of work as well as individual projects.
• Demonstrated experience in using cost estimation software products such as CANDY(preferred), Expert Estimation, CATS or equivalent.
• A proficient influencer and service provider who excels in meeting deadlines and delivering accurate results.
