Reporting to the Data Manager, we are after an Environmental Scientist/Data Analyst to assist in the delivery of a range of environmental monitoring projects

 

This is a full time fixed term role until January 2026 based at the Cremorne head office, with potential of becoming a permanent position following this period.

 

As an Environmental Scientist/Data Analyst, you will primarily be responsible for collecting, managing and reporting of environmental data collected from the field teams and delivering the final product to the client.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Support health and safety of employees and self through education, training and demonstration of the right behaviours.
•    Ensure safe and efficient operation of the business through proactive management of the procedures and processes.
•    Lab data receipt.
•    Report creation and tracking.
•    Generate site maps and plans using GIS software.
•    Assist in loading data and extracting data from systems.
•    Ensure data processing and QA is carried out on data generated or supplied by regional offices.
•    Assist in preparing reports and provide feedback on future data requirements.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
•    Qualification in Environmental Science, Hydrography, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering or other similar fields is preferred.
•    In field environmental monitoring experience is preferred.
•    Ability to write and review reports including undertaking data analysis and quality assurance.
•    Strong time management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent computer and aptitude for learning new software packages.
•    Strong communication skills and ability to present and summarise data.
•    High level MS Excel user (mandatory)
•    Experience using environmental databases ESdat and Hydstra
•    Experience in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Power Apps, Power automate, batch file programming, MySQL, Python, VBA or Perl programming skills (preferred) 
•    Understanding of environmental monitoring concepts.
•    Technical (factual) and non-technical writing, including procedures and work instructions.
