Network Operations Officer - 10 Month Fixed Term

About The Role
Due to an increase scope of work, are seeking a Network Operations Officer on a Full-time Fixed-term engagement until the 19th of December 2025. Reporting to the Network Operations Centre Team Lead, the Network Operation Officer will be a key point of contact for service requests and the management of service disruptions within the EAS (Emergency Alerting System) Network.
This is a rotating 24/7 roster, 12-hour shift over 365 days including Public Holidays and Weekends. You will also be expected to be on a rotating on call roster for any staff shortages / major incidents that can occur.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve L1 issues for users while utilising all the available ITSM tools and applications
- Responsible for user support (telephone, email, fax) and excellent customer service by providing tier 1 technical and non-technical support
- Escalating any incidents that cannot be resolved within specified times frames to the relevant team members and keeping across the incident until resolved
- Liaising with all relevant teams to resolve any identified issue
- Develop good customer relationships through excellent customer service
- Update and maintain data integrity of various systems used within the NOC
About You
- 12+ Months working as a Helpdesk Operator ideally with experience in Paging / Transmission / Radio Networks
- Previous NOC or ISP technical environment experience (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in IT or Telecommunications (preferred)
- Cisco experience (CCENT / CCNA) (certification preferred)
- Experience with Linux in an operational context
- ITIL Foundations
- Programming/Scripting e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc (desirable)
