About the Role:

We have a newly created position of Sector Lead Strategy & Planning for our Defence & Social Infrastructure sector with Ventia. This position will be responsible for driving strategic direction and growth through comprehensive market analysis, strategic planning and opportunity identification with operations and business development teams.

 

Reporting to our Executive General Manager Strategy and Growth for the sector this role will be instrumental in shaping the long-term vision while ensuring alignment with market opportunities and customer needs.

 

We are looking for a hands-on individual where you will both form the strategy through collaboration with business stakeholders as well as developing and providing the market research and analysis to inform strategic decision making.

 

Hybrid working based from our Cremorne office in Melbourne. Open to also considering Sydney based candidates.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain the sectors strategic plan ensuring alignment with the sector strategy and Ventia's overall enterprise strategy.
  • Create, monitor and report on roadmaps and progress against the sector strategic plan.
  • Conduct and develop comprehensive market research and analysis understanding industry trends, competitive landscape and customer demands.
  • Identify emerging technologies, business models and market disruptions that impact the sector.
  • Provide global benchmarking and peer analysis to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic M&A opportunities, business expansion and diversification opportunities.
  • Develop proposals for new and existing clients. Substantive analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic business direction.

 

Key Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Finance, Legal or similar.
  • Well-developed experience in Strategy Operations and Business Management, precontracts or similar
  • Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking generating concepts from capture to planning insights.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with ability to influence outcomes across stakeholder groups.First class Excel, Power Point presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Hands on approach to delivery working with leaders and operations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to take a vision and communicate and inspire.
