Ventia is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Sweeper Operator to join our Defence Base Services team at RAAF Darwin. This isn’t just another driving job—it’s your chance to play a vital role in maintaining one of Australia’s key Defence sites. From sweeping runways under the stars to keeping the grounds pristine by day, you’ll be part of a crew that keeps operations running smoothly and safely.

As a core member of our Grounds Maintenance team, your day-to-day will include:
- Operating sweeping equipment across roads, runways, and site areas—day and night shifts
- Assisting with Grounds labouring tasks as needed
- Ensuring all sweeping meets high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Completing site inductions and obtaining necessary accreditations
- Performing start-up checks, wash-downs, and routine maintenance on your equipment
- Ensuring road sweeping work meets the standards of management and the expectations of customers.
In order to maintain these responsibilities, the successful applicant must:
- Have a current MR licence or higher.
- Must have minimum of 3 years truck driving experience.
- Experience driving a manual operated truck.
- Be able to work autonomously whilst maintaining a company driven focus.
Please note you must be an Australian citizen to work on a Defence site.
