In partnership with Healthscope at Northern Beaches Hospital, Ventia is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Advisor. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide expert advice and support, ensuring compliance and driving operational excellence in Health and Safety. This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at our hospital.

About the role:

  • Provide expert advice and practical solutions to support project teams in the effective implementation of quality assurance and management systems.
  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety (SHEQ) Manager to develop and maintain the annual Project Integrated Audit & Inspection Plan.
  • Schedule and carry out internal audits, ensuring action tracking to maintain compliance with Ventia’s standards and uphold certifications/accreditations.
  • Review contracts to identify project deliverables and implement a robust assurance program to monitor and evaluate compliance.
  • Perform risk assessments, conduct audits, and implement hazard controls to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Lead safety investigations for incidents or injuries on-site, focusing on identifying opportunities for process improvement.

 

About You:

  • Completed Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or a similar qualification.
  • Proven experience in high-risk environments, such as construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and consultation skills, with the ability to develop strategies that ensure compliance, minimize risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
