Maintenance Worker

Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions (GCIS) is a Joint Venture between Ventia and Downer that has been awarded an exciting 10-year contract to deliver water and wastewater repairs, maintenance services, and renewals project works for the City of Gold Coast.

About the role 

We have an opportunity to work with the City of Gold Coast as a Maintenance Worker to assist with the operational performance of the city’s five Vacuum Sewer Systems.

Key responsibilities include

• Monitor and manipulate liquid flows throughout the reticulation networks of each system to achieve optimal performance.
• Build working relations with other branches to streamline priority & scheduled works. 
• Record and submit data via SAP.
• Work alongside a Vac technician attending priority 1 & 2 jobs.
• Ensure the customer is updated as to the proposed work plan. 
• Ensure WHS and other legislative requirements are always complied with.  

About you  

• Willingness to gain or expand knowledge in vacuum sewer operations. 
• Ability to manage workload according to priority status.
• Be able to identify all high-risk activities and specific tasks in scoped works.
• Awareness of environmental impacts that may occur and procedures to follow.
• Great Customer service skills.
• White Card.
• Drivers licence.
• Working at Heights – desirable/willing to obtain.
• Enter and Work in Confined Spaces – desirable/willing to obtain.
• Operate Breathing Apparatus – desirable/willing to obtain.
