About the role

Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence Force have an exciting career opportunity for a passionate Head Chef to join our team in Cerberus VIC.  As the Head Chef you will be responsible for managing the overall preparation and delivery of meal services from production facilities, ensuring regular consultation with the Executive staff regarding expectations and performance.

What you'll be doing

• Manage 6 chefs and 15-20 staff at any one time to deliver a memorable and lasting impression on the defence community
• Food preparation for breakfast, lunch & dinner
• Manage your own kitchen, and assist with the training of apprentices and cooks
• Support stock management initiatives, including stock rotation and restocking consumable
• Assist with menu creation, costing, rostering & food safety compliance

About you

• Precious experience in a large commercial kitchen and Food Safety compliance Proactive, energetic and shares a passion for the hospitality industry
• Australian recognised Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
• Must Be an Australian Citizen and able to complete an Australian Federal Police Check
