The Team
The Stakeholder and Communications Manager will be supporting a well-established and experienced team of Transport Infrastructure experts in the Maintenance and Construction sectors.

Boasting a good mixture of both local and international experience, we support each other, provide opportunities for development and promotion and have ambitions to continually grow our business in the coming years.
 

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Customer and Stakeholder Manager to represent the Transport team in building strong and resilient relationships with the local community, our client, and other key stakeholders. You will lead engagement with stakeholders and the local community, providing timely, informative project updates and support the Customer Advisor in dealing with enquiries.

You’ll work closely with the Transport and Construction team to identify communication risks and opportunities and develop communications and stakeholder engagement plans for complex projects.

We strive to be an approachable, high performance, “can do” team helping our client achieve their outcomes. As Stakeholder Manager you’ll support the team in meeting the needs of our customers by having an innovative solution focussed approach., 

The person has the responsibility for the efficient and effective management of the day-to-day operations of the stakeholder team.

 
Other responsibilities include

•    Preparing weekly and monthly reports
•    Ensure satisfaction surveys are conducted, reviewed and necessary actions taken
•    Content writing, particularly good news stories to be shared on various internal and external social media sites
•    Leading internal communications such as toolboxes, team engagement activities, etc.
 
About you 

•    A relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in one or more of the disciplines within the portfolio
•    Proven experience in community engagement and providing excellent customer service. 
•    Previous experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders
•    Experience working in the public service either at a local or central government level
•    Ability to problem solve and provide communications support and guidance to the team 
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication, with high attention to detail
•    Ability to communicate and empathise with people – a real people-person with a positive attitude!
•    Driving licence is essential

 

You may have studied communications, marketing or media, and with a couple of years post-graduate experience under your belt are now seeking a more broadly scoped role. You may be working in a junior to mid-level communications or stakeholder management role and are seeking more autonomy. Or you may be an experienced stakeholder manager who is interested in gaining some business development and marketing experience. You will be a creative thinker with a track record of successful outcomes resulting from the application of your innovative ideas. 

 

Advantageous Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•    Previous experience in a stakeholder management or communications role
•    Communications, media or marketing qualifications is an advantage but not essential
•    Business development or marketing experience – or demonstrated ability to influence
•    Experience of CRM systems
•    Experience from the construction, infrastructure or utilities industries is preferable but not a requirement
•    Exceptional communication skills – in person, on the phone and in writing
•    The ability to adapt to changing priorities
