Wastewater Technician - Kaikohe

Ventia are currently seeking 1x Wastewater Service Technician based in Kaikohe.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Ventia, in partnership with the Far North District Council, operates and maintains vital water infrastructure across the region, including: 9 water treatment plants, 17 wastewater treatment plants, 750+ km of pipeline, 100+ pump stations.  We also deliver minor capital works to improve these assets.

What your day might look like:

• Standard hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (with occasional overtime)
• Hands-on work at water and wastewater treatment plants
• Working in a supportive team environment
• Using mobile devices for timesheets and job tracking
• On-call roster: 1 week in 4 (with overtime opportunities)

This is a reactive maintenance role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving

ABOUT YOU

We’re not looking for perfection – we’re looking for potential.  Whether you’ve worked on a farm, done plumbing, irrigation, or just enjoy hands-on work, we want to hear from you.

• Reliability and a strong work ethic
• Someone who enjoys working on site and in a team

Minimum Requirements

• A Full Class 1 driver’s licence (Class 2 and WTR are even better!)
• Able to pass a drug test
• Living in or willing to relocate to the Far North

Bonus if you have:

• Traffic Control certification
• Enrolment in or interest in the NZ Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3 or 4)
