The role

We have two great opportunities in our dynamic team for Water & Wastewater Treatment (Treatment Plant Operators) to work in our Kaitaia offices. Embark on an exciting career in ensuring the provision of safe and healthy water for our community.

 

You will carry out Water and Wastewater treatment operations and like duties and to assist team leaders in the management of WorkSafe and quality control systems.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Undertaking wastewater operations on five days of the week and weekends as rostered, with a requirement to cover on call.
  • Ensuring that all faults and enquiries are dealt with promptly and efficiently as well as ensuring that wastewater services are operating efficiently and economically and meet the needs of their users.
  • Ensuring that resources are utilised effectively and in accordance with organisational objectives.
  • Servicing equipment according to maintenance schedules.
  • Daily monitoring and recording of treatment plant operational data.

 

 

While holding a National Certificate in Water Treatment (Level 4) is ideal, what is most important is finding the right fit for our team and strong aptitude for the job. If you lack the certification, don't worry; we are committed to investing in your professional development and will provide the necessary training.

 

To excel in your new role, you should bring:

 

  • A current full driver's license
  • Practical knowledge of water supply pumping stations and treatment systems
  • Familiarity with the Drinking Water Standards for New Zealand (desirable)
  • Proficiency in conducting day-to-day maintenance on water monitoring instrumentation and plant equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • An unwavering commitment to providing safe and healthy water to our community at all times
