Ventia are currently seeking a Operational Services Manager to join and support our Defence contract at RAAF Tindal, Northern Territory.  We currently lead and manage five Defence bases in the NT which includes four sites in Darwin and one in the Katherine area as well as a number of remote ranges. We provide Domestic Services, Hospitality and Catering, Grounds Maintenance, Sport and Recreation, Range Contract and Estate Upkeep services across all sites. The diversity the Defence Base services contract offers, means no two days will ever be the same – Which is sure to keep you on your toes. 

 

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver Ventia’s key mantra “Redefining Service Excellence” with a key focus on the importance of the Northern Territory to our Nation and the expected increase in activities in the Northwest. This role would see you working for the second largest employer in the Northern Territory in a Senior leadership role with significant internal and external exposure. 

 

This role will ensure service and operational excellence,  partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes, build and lead a capable team, effectively manage client stakeholders’ relationships at all levels, implement improvements and efficiencies in day-to-day operations.


As result we seek to employ people who will succeed in this role and who will likely have:

  • Experience in managing and driving successful outcomes in a large team
  • Experience in P&L’s within a medium to large organisation 
  • Results focused with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Exception customer and stakeholder management experience 
  • Experience in high volume hospitality highly regarded. 
  • Able to work effectively with people from diverse national, cultural, linguistic and religious/spiritual backgrounds and to deal with sensitive issues in a manner that is respectful of people’s individual dignity, cultural values and religious beliefs.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to balance the requirements of working in a secure environment whilst promoting healthy routines for clients.
  • Have demonstrated operational experience, with an understanding of the Australian Defence Organisation highly regarded
