Field Supervisor

Join Ventia’s Telecommunications Fixed Networks Team in Mackay as a Field Supervisor. This is a visible role that will require you to undertake regular travel including spending nights away from home.  The purpose of the role is to achieve optimum production and cost outcomes through the management of direct labour and subcontractors in a healthy and safe work environment.

About the Role
You will ensure all staff and contractors have enough information about the projects and are following the Ventia processes to construct and deliver. You may be required to travel 4-6 hours a day depending on where the work is being carried out. 

Key responsibilities include aspects of:

• Safety and Environment – ensuring a strong safety culture, addressing incidents swiftly, communications (toolboxes, pre-starts, safety alerts), and adherence to policies and procedures and promoting corporate initiatives
• Project Delivery – oversee work, analyse production methods and performance against schedule, assess efficiency and quality ensuring balance between cost and production to meet objectives and time constrictions, understanding contractual obligations and ensuring internal workforce and subcontractors are managed in an effective manner to achieve project objects through analysing tasks, coordinating work tasks, ensuring project milestones are achieved. 
• Quality – ensure project standards and quality are achieved through explaining work practices, standards, ITP’s and expectations, streamline operations  and monitor quality outputs
• Planning and scheduling – ensure work is planned and schedule to meet required timelines and outputs
• Leadership – foster a team culture of ownership and excellence
• Client focus – maintain productive internal and external relationships and ensure delivery meets the needs of relevant stakeholders
• Reporting and records – ensuring comprehensive records are established and maintained to assist in decision making, including progress report, variations to contract schedules and work volumes.

About You
Your personal drive will see you succeed along with:

• Demonstrated supervisory experience in related industry / construction
• Ability to read and understand construction plans
• Understanding of NBN Optical Fibre Network
• Experienced in subcontractor management
• Sound computer skills, problem solving abilities, time management and people skills
• Current drivers’ licence
• Construction white card
• MUST HAVE FULL WORKING RIGHTS IN AUSTRALIA
