Engineering Services Project Manager

Our Defence & Social Infrastructure team are seeking an Engineering Services Project Manager for as part of a project transition for a Fixed-Term Engagement until 27th March 2026 with potential a permanent position and can be located from any of our offices in major states.
The purpose of the role is to provide leadership, governance, and oversight of Work Wear Goup (WWG), a primary subcontractor to Ventia on the Defence Clothing Services contract, associated with WWG’s development and implementation of plans, processes, procedures and functions associated with Engineering Services to ensure WWG’s compliance with Department of Defence, statutory and legislative requirements.
Ventia’s client for the Defence Clothing Services contract is the Clothing Systems Project Office (CLOSPO) within the Commonwealth’s Department of Defence.
Other responsibilities include:
- Duties associated with WWG’s development and implementation of Engineering Services functions, including, Subcontract governance relating to Engineering Service and ensuring compliance to Commonwealth clothing-related specifications and requirements.
- Auditing Engineering Services processes to ensure compliance with Commonwealth clothing-related requirements.
- Review of WWG plans, processes and systems relating to Engineering Services and providing feedback on compliance to WWG.
- Engagement with key client staff from CLOSPO to ensure that key deliverables associated with Engineering Services meet requirements.
- Obtain regular progress reporting from WWG.
- Writing of Ventia reporting on Engineering Services, to be provided to CLOSPO.
- Attendance at and input into regular Ventia Phase In Coordination meetings.
- Regular Ventia-internal reporting (weekly and monthly as required) on progress, issues, challenges and risks associated with implementation of the WWG Engineering Services functions.
- Providing input to enable the updating of the Ventia Phase In Schedule (Gantt Chart).
- Site visits where necessary for compliance audits.
- Providing input for the development of Ventia plans relating to Engineering Services
About You
To be successful in your application although not essential a background in Engineering and project management accompanied with:
- Strong skills in driving governance processes and compliance to requirements
- An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to successfully engage stakeholders from various businesses.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a high performing member of a team
- Demonstrated written communication and IT skills
