About the Role

Defence Base Services is Ventia’s largest Defence portfolio, with over 1,500 employees working across locations throughout Australia. The upcoming Base Services Transformation (BST) will shape the next generation of Defence Base Services contracts, encompassing three key work packages: Fire Services, Living and Working Services (LWS), Property Asset Services (PAS)

As General Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of this contract, overseeing day-to-day operations and setting key financial, strategic, and operational goals across service packages. You’ll drive safety culture, operational excellence, enhance client satisfaction, and ensure sustainable financial performance while meeting all contractual obligations.

To succeed in this role, you will likely bring:

• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and provide clarity and focus.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and customer-focused innovation.
• Strong track record managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Established network within Defence.
• Exceptional relationship management with senior strategic clients.
• Demonstrated success in enhancing financial outcomes and commercial growth.

Special Conditions

Please note: All team members engaged on a Ventia Defence Contract must be eligible to hold and maintain Defence Security Clearance. Australian Citizenship is required.
