The Role
Ventia are currently seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our Energy & Renewables Gas contract. You will be responsible for providing the necessary support and advice to the Gas division across Victoria, South Australia and external business units to achieve organisational SHEQ objectives.
The SHEQ advisor has a reporting function to the Senior SHEQ advisor and will work closely with Contract / Operations Managers of the gas contracts across Victoria and South Australia. Their principal responsibilities include managing incident investigation and reporting processes, overall control of the SHEQ Management Systems, Workers Compensation Claims Management, governance and compliance, and assisting People Training and Development Officers in training needs analysis and training delivery.
The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

  • Schedule routine systems tasks for team and management (i.e. Audits, Management Review Meetings, Document Review, HSE System Eyes) 
  • Develop and Maintain On-line Management Systems  
  • Collate, maintain and monitor Quality Assurance Documentation 
  • Liaise with and Ventia cooperate with Management and Clients

Education and Qualifications: 

  • Health and Safety or Risk Management or equivalent certification – Alternative extensive demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in a utilities business environment.
  • SHEQ Auditors Course (desirable)
  • Workplace Trainer and Assessor Cert IV (desirable)  

Technical Competencies: 

  • IT Literacy and skills- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) 
  • Fundamental training in and knowledge of AS4801, AS9000 series and ISO14001 standards 
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant WHS legislations 
  • Technical expertise of processes within Construction, Maintenance and Asset Renewals areas (Desirable)
