About the Role
Our Yarra Valley Water contract is seeking a Storeperson in our Mitcham and Coburg North depots. The Storeperson will assist with the provision of effective and efficient delivery of the Stores in support of the project and aligned with the Ventia’s Vision, Values and the Contract specific business plan.

To maintain consistently high standards of performance and quality assurance, all of the duties outlined in this position description always require due care in completion and attention to quality. To also be able to work in a safe and controlled manner with responsibilities to those that are also in the workplace.

Other role responsibilities include:

• Manage a neat, tidy, and safe environment to operate in, including regular cleaning and maintaining non-hazard items in the warehouse and yard
• Ensure appropriate warehouse layout management to reduce material and equipment handling, wastage, and loss, and to eliminate the possibility of inappropriate use and damage
• Handle daily essential warehouse duties, including:
  • pre-start safety and compliance checks of equipment, including scheduling equipment maintenance
  • monitoring inventory stock levels and placing new inventory orders with suppliers
  • replenishing crews’ bins in accordance with pick list
  • receiving, unloading, and unpacking inventory and store them away in a designated storage location
  • packing and sending inventory back to supplier in case of change orders, including SAP/Ariba records
  • reporting delivery shortages, non-deliveries, and other discrepancies 
  • maintaining clear labels, signage, and maps (where needed)

• Profile, classify and categorize stock to maintain optimal physical levels and accurate counts in SAP
• Ensuring critical stock availability by means of regular visual check, cycle counting and subsequent timely stock re-ordering and processing deliveries, accurately reflecting stock movements in SAP/Ariba
• Document receipts and reconciliation of delivered Purchase Orders and returns in SAP/Ariba
• Perform necessary stock adjustment and stock allocation transactions in SAP.

About You

• Experience in a similar position ideally in Maintenance, heavy industry sectors
• Proficiency/previous exposure in using SAP/Ariba/JDE
• Proficiency with MS Office Software - Excel, Word, Outlook
• Current licences for materials handling equipment (forklift, gantry crane), current excavator licence
• Working knowledge of WorkSafe Victoria and Safe Work Australia Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Guides
