The Opportunity

 

Ventia have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Seamstress to join our team based in Moorebank. Reporting to the Technical Supervisor, you will be a vital team member who is responsible for repairing a number different parachutes used during Defence personnel training.

 

 

  • 1 x full-time permanent role, Monday to Thursday: 7am to 3:45pm and Friday: 7am to 12pm!

Key duties will include:

  • Perform alterations such as sewing patching to cover damage, hemming and unpicking etc
  • Assessing whether further damage to what is listed on the work order is required
  • Ensuring accurate work order records are kept

 

Could you be our next Seamstress?

  • Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance and therefore, must be an Australian Citizen
  • Experience in fabric/upholstery alterations
  • Experience in scheduling workloads and meeting production deadlines
  • Experience using a zig zag as well a sewing machine
  • Experience with parachutes is advantageous
