About the Role:
The SHEQ Advisor plays a crucial role in the SHEQ function by partnering with projects to provide leadership, advice, and support for compliance and operational excellence in quality assurance.

 

This role involves assisting the SHEQ Business Manager with the implementation, monitoring, and governance of Group and Sector SHEQ programs. As the primary interface between the sector SHEQ Management team and operational delivery teams, the SHEQ Advisor ensures effective communication and coordination on Quality & Assurance matters.

 

** This is a 12-month, fixed-term role and supporting 3 days per week. Based in the Mornington Peninsula**


 

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with SHEQ Manager to prepare and maintain the annual Project Integrated Audit & Inspection Plan.
  • Schedule, conduct audits internally / externally (supplier & subcontractors), track actions to maintain compliance and certifications.
  • Implement assurance programs to monitor compliance with contractual KPIs.
  • Partner in subcontractor prequalification with SHEQ Business Managers and Projects Manager.
  • Manage and report on project objectives and targets.
  • Maintain licensing and legal registers for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Document Control and Record Management requirements.
  • Support quality metrics reporting and analyze data for project needs.
  • Facilitate lessons learned sessions after projects or incidents.
  • Support identifying and managing Quality & Assurance risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to review satisfaction and manage client-specific requirements.

 

Key Experiences & Skill:

  • 3+ years in similar industry, services, or construction organisation
  • WHS practical experience
  • Operational experience desirable
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of internal audit programs
  • Tertiary qualification in WHS, science, engineering, or related discipline is ideal
