About the Role

We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance contract. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, fault-finding, and upgrading streetlighting infrastructure (predominately) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

• Permanent full-time position – primarily day shifts
• Flexibility required – occasional night shifts, on-call duties, and weekend work (shared via rotating roster)

Location: Based in Newcastle, with travel across surrounding coastal, Hunter, and regional areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and service traffic signals and ITS equipment
• Ensure compliance with statutory and contract requirements
• Follow OH&S protocols in line with Ventia policies
• Participate in on-call and relief service rotations
• Undertake training to enhance contract-relevant capabilities
• Assist with emergency response coordination
• Contribute to the review and improvement of operational procedures
• Support the Asset Manager and ITS Asset Engineer with asset planning
• Perform other duties as directed by the ITS Supervisor

About You

• Qualified Electrician with a current electrical licence (essential)
• Experience with ITS and/or traffic signals (highly regarded)
• Valid driver’s licence and Construction White Card (essential)
• Willingness to provide after-hours support when required
