The Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Traffic Control Room Operator to join our team in North Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring traffic patterns, identifying potential incidents, and ensuring safe and efficient traffic management across the network. You will be working alongside a colleague on shift, focusing on observing traffic via screens for extended periods.

 

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Tunnel or Traffic Control, or similar roles, with a strong background in both planned and reactive maintenance within complex operational environments.

 

  • North Sydney location close to public transport
  • Casual position – 12-hour shifts (6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am)

Could You Be Our Tunnel Control Room Operator?

  • Proven experience in Tunnel/Traffic Control or related fields, with a focus on managing maintenance and operations
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, with a quick aptitude for learning systems such as Asset Vision and Team Binder
  • Certifications including White Card, Introduction to Emergency Management, Traffic Controller Accreditation, Emergency Response, First Aid, and CPR
  • Competence in completing essential work management documents, including asset condition audits, inventory reports, and general operations documentation
  • Strong understanding and implementation of safe work practices, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies
  • A Certificate IV in Traffic Management is highly desirable
