About the role

 

As Ventia's General Manager Industry Training, you will be accountable for establishing and maintaining the Group capability profile. 

 

You will be responsible for development and execution of the organisation’s Training and Development framework including Nationally Recognised Training and business-specific learning programs.

 

In this role you will have a real impact on Ventia's business. You will continue to deliver on some of our award winning training programs and the opportunity to implement training strategy across the organisation. 

 

This role has the ability to be based from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

 

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Oversee the development and execution of the Group learning strategy and framework, including Nationally Recognised Training and business-specific learning programs.
  • Identify learning, certification and accreditation needs in accordance with the organisation’s strategic and operational plans.
  • Manage course development and delivery projects in collaboration with internal employees and external providers.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate training strategies that are engaging, support internal learning, are operationally and commercially sound.
  • Liaise with Training Providers to ensure the relevant delivery of programs to Ventia employees.
  • Develop and support a network of embedded trainers across each sector in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Develop mechanisms to receive feedback from participants evaluating the effectiveness of learning and training programs.
  • Based on feedback, make recommendations for change, and upon approval, implement these changes.
  • Build a collaborative and safety-first culture, including championing health and safety campaigns.

 

About you

 

  • Ability to deliver a training and development strategy and framework that can engage and ensure active participation in training activities.
  • Possesses advanced industry training experience in heavy asset industries, understanding training requirements and providers.
  • Understanding of training methods and technology platforms.
  • Experienced in engaging numerous internal and external stakeholders in relation to training and development (including RTO’s).
  • Experience in working in a large organisation building overall employee capability.
