Project Services is a new centralised function within Ventia’s Telecommunications sector that unifies three specialist teams – Process, Systems & Governance; Subcontractor Enablement; and Land Access & Stakeholder Engagement – into a single, cohesive hub
Ventia’s NextGen Operational Model is transforming the Telecommunications division by standardising operational processes, enhancing governance structures, achieving significant operational efficiencies, and empowering teams.
The Manager of Governance & Business Process Improvement is responsible for leading comprehensive governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure operational alignment with Ventia’s strategic objectives. This role oversees compliance, conducts detailed audits, implements governance policies, and ensures processes are optimised for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
This role has 4 direct reports within the Project Services structure
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead, support and manage four team members as part of the project services structure
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed governance frameworks aligned with strategic objectives.
- Lead and direct governance teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
- Regularly review and refine governance policies and procedures to ensure continuous relevance and effectiveness.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure governance effectiveness and drive performance improvement.
- Identify opportunities for operational enhancements using structured methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and BPM.
- Conduct comprehensive process analyses and facilitate improvement initiatives across multiple teams.
- Regularly measure and report on process improvement outcomes, highlighting efficiencies and further improvement opportunities.
- Manage and oversee detailed internal and external compliance audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including operational teams, senior leadership, and governance bodies.
- Ensure all governance and process improvement activities strictly adhere to Ventia’s HSEQ policies and standards.
About you
- Previous roles managing governance and process improvement initiatives.
- Extensive experience in governance, compliance, and business process improvement.
- SAP and Maximo experience highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Governance, Compliance, or related field. (Desirable)
- Expert knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and auditing standards.
- Experience adhering to and driving best practice processes, procedures, frameworks and standards that comply with policy and governance
- Ability to think strategically
