SAP BTP Product Owner

About the Role:
Located in North Sydney NSW – the SAP BTP Product Owner role will be responsible to lead the design, development, and strategic direction of SAP BTP solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with product ownership responsibilities, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Design and implement scalable SAP BTP architectures using SAP CAP, Fiori/UI5, and cloud-native technologies.
- Integrate SAP BTP with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party systems.
- Ensure adherence to SAP clean core principles and extensibility guidelines.
- Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and architectural assessments.
Product Ownership
- Define product roadmaps, technical vision, and feature priorities in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
- Manage product backlog, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security, compliance, and performance standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams.
- Communicate product vision and technical strategy clearly across teams.
- Facilitate workshops and demos to gather feedback and drive adoption.
Team Development & Agile Execution
- Mentor developers and engineers on SAP BTP best practices.
- Lead agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming).
- Support hiring and onboarding of technical talent.
Key Skills and Experience of the ideal candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in SAP ABAP and cloud development.
- Proven experience with SAP BTP, SAP CAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, and OData services.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native development, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- SAP certifications in BTP or related modules are a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Intermediate understanding of databases, SQL, data models and basic data reporting
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite, SAP Event Mesh, and SAP Launchpad – desirable
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) – desirable
- Knowledge of security protocols, data privacy, and compliance standards - desirable
