Sustainability Manager

Ventia are seeking a Sustainability Manager to join their team across their Sydney Harbour and Western Harbour Tunnel. The successful applicant will be offered a full-time permanent position working within Ventia’s North Sydney office.

The Sustainability Manager provides expert advice to progress the sustainability performance across projects. The applicant would be responsible for driving sustainability excellence across the contract, analyse the consumption and waste streams, audit them, propose solutions, weigh up the pros and cons of these proposed solutions, and then implement the agreed solutions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Liaise with planning consultants as well as the internal project team
• Implement and monitor environmental and sustainability strategies and action plans to achieve business and contract objectives
• Raise the profile of sustainability across contracts and ensure opportunities for improved sustainability performance are identified and evaluated
• Incorporate measures aligned with ISC metrics into the EMS across the business
• Incorporate sustainable practices through business processes
• Manage and develop business cases and requests for approval for sustainability initiatives and programs
• Participate in sustainability working groups both internally within Ventia as well as externally in collaboration with our clients and industry
• Collaborate with sustainability professionals across Ventia and contribute to increasing Ventia’s organisational maturity and capability in the area of sustainability

About You

• Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft word, outlook and excel
• Ability to learn general systems
• White card and drivers license
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
