ABOUT THE ROLE

Ventia’s new 7-year Hauraki Road Maintenance Contract is in charge for all maintenance and repairs on 630kms of the local roads for the Hauraki District Council and Waikato Region.
 

Join a team of 10 and assist in our daily cyclic maintenance operations across our road network. As a Civil maintenance worker, you will perform general maintenance and repairs across our road network and assets.
 

Get your career kickstarted in a reputable large organisation with this full-time opportunity, offering 40 hours a week. Your hours of work will be from Monday to Friday, 7.00am – 4.00pm with the opportunity to finish early on the Friday. We want to shape your career path with the training and upskilling we provide at Ventia, along with the career progression opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operation of work vehicle to drive around the road network and locate faults to any of the roads assets
• Putting up safety signs for road users to operate safely
• General Maintenance and repairs across the road network. E.g. – Filling potholes, fixing, and replacing road signs, painting signposts and sight rails
• Cut back hanging branches protruding over the roads
• Basic debris and rubbish clean up, such as clearing of Kerbs, channels and cesspits
• General Civil labouring duties

Key Skills & Attributes Include:

• Basic competency of construction equipment including hand and some power tools
• Civil/Road’s experience – Desirable
• Class 2 driver’s licence
• Basic aptitude with technology. E.g. - Ipad
• Strong safety aptitude
