ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is accountable for the management of the Northland sealing projects and project teams, from tender process to completion, ensuring that priorities and deadlines for each project are met which either meet or exceeding the clients and Ventia’s requirements.

This also includes responsibility for staff supervision, site and plant maintenance ensuring that the work undertaken is completed safely, within budget, timeframe and quality conditions of the contract.

In this role, you will lead a team of about 16 staff members, working closely with the Renewals and Maintenance Managers. As a vital member of the Ventia Transport Business, you will work closely with the Roading Contract Manager looking after the maintenance of over 1200KM of unsealed and 400 km of sealed roads. The contract looks after a number of things from grading to pavement maintenance, drainage, footpaths, and chipsealing, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in keeping our roads safe and accessible.

Your strong people and leadership skills will be key to your success, as you mentor and support your team to deliver exceptional results.

Stakeholder management will also be an essential part of your role, ensuring effective collaboration with various subcontractors and stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

If you have experience with RAMM (Road Asset and Maintenance Management), that would be an advantage. Additionally, a tertiary qualification in Civil, Construction, or Roading Engineering or a related field will be highly beneficial.

As a Surfacing Manager, your solid operational experience on delivery of sealing contracts, along with project management and financial acumen are important skills that you will bring to the table.

Your ability to manage multiple teams and deliver projects within budget and on time will be critical in this role.
