About the Role
The Psychologist delivers psychological programs to inmates and ensures that their case loads are managed effectively so inmates receive the support and interventions they require to reduce their risk of reoffending. This role applies case and behavioural management methods and demonstrates culturally sensitive practices and attitudes in actively engaging a diverse population of inmates. 

The Psychologist has the ability to work unsupervised under the direction of the Senior Psychologist. The Psychologist possesses assertiveness and confidence in dealing with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviours. An understanding of modelling pro-social behaviours and an ability to motivate and influence individuals is critical to this role. 


To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Hold full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA (endorsement as a Forensic Psychologist highly desirable) 
  • Knowledge of correctional psychology and the reducing reoffending framework 
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including those at risk of suicide and self-harm
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an AFP check
  • Double Vaccinations are now a mandatory requirement for employment
