BOILERMAKERS | Barrow Island Shutdown 


Shutdown Information:   

  • Paid In person and online inductions to be completed prior to mobilisation 
  • Main shutdown – Commences on the 11th of July circa 4 weeks (12-hour days)  
  • Ability to complete weld testing as part of the pre-employment checks  
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical including D&A

About Ventia:   

Ventia is seeking experienced & qualified Boilermakers. This casual role will see you engaged on periodic Campaign maintenance, grouped/batched maintenance programs, as well as completing both preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance. The casual position will see you working FIFO out of Perth as part of the initial Barrow Island team and partake in future LNG works as opportunities arise to join future shutdowns.   


What you’ll need:   

Essential   

  • Trade Certificate in Metals, Manufacturing and or Fabrication (Boilermaking/ Welding)  
  • Confined Space Entry valid within 3 years  
  • White Card 
  • Drivers licence  


Desirable  

  • Work safely at heights valid within 3 years  
  • High Risk Work Licence – EWP, FL  
  • Operate breathing apparatus valid withing 3 years   
  • Provide First Aid   
  • Industry Safety Induction   


What you will bring:  

  • Experience in GTAW - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) & Stick (Metal Arc Welding)  
  • Knowledge and practical experience of the Carbon Arc Welding Code 
  • Proven structural welding, fabrication capabilities with carbon, aluminum & stainless steel 
  • Expertise in Oil & Gas, refineries and maintenance environments  
  • Safety – first mindset following safety protocols and hazard procedures
