About the Role
Ventia are seeking to engage an experienced SHEQ Manager to provide strong leadership in promoting a positive and generative approach to the safety and health, environment and quality functions across the business. 

To perform your duties as the SHEQ Manager, this role will be based in our head office in East Perth working on an oil and gas facility contract in northern Western Australia. 

Your duties will include, but are not limited to

  • Implementation of SHEQ management plans, emergency response and continuous improvement business planning
  • Maintaining client specific requirements and systems
  • Provide expert advice and practical solutions to emerging risks aligned to scope of works
  • Preparing and delivering SHEQ communications
  • Provide key legislative and organization updates as required to contract
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices, in order to ensure compliance with Ventia SHEQ Management System, legislative and other requirements
  • Delivery of programs across the site or location to ensure all project requirements are addressed to maintain compliance
  • Lead and manage incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business if required
  • Drive continuous improvement and develop and share outcomes and learnings with team
  • Facilitate effective return to work and injury management
  • Ensure project readiness for external audits, undertaking internal audits and action tracking to ensure compliance with Ventia requirements, and certifications/accreditations are maintained


To be successful you will have the following

  • 5+ years in similar industry, services or construction organisation
  • Degree in OHS, science, engineering or related discipline.
  • Oil and Gas experience required to support turnaround and maintenance operations of the plant. 
  • Ability to maintain and present contract SHEQ data to client forums
  • Clearly able to articulate that strategy to operational leads
  • Sound communication skills including high level of literacy and numeracy 
  • Contracting knowledge and experience
  • Incident causation methodology (ICAM/ Taproot)
  • Operational experience in high-risk environments (where relevant)
  • Passion for continually improving
