Trade Assistant

Ventia has an exciting opportunity for experienced and qualified Trade Assistants, this position will be FIFO from Perth with the shutdown commencing on the 1st of June.

This is a great opportunity for Trade Assistants to support, learn and develop from industry leading trades in the Oil & Gas industry. If you’re looking to gain experience across diverse assets and trades, then this is the role for you! 

Shutdown dates: 

• Main shutdown - Commences on the 1st June (12-hour days) - 2 week duration

What's on offer: 

• Casual rate $62.97 per hour 
• Casual Rate $70.84 per hour night shift   
• Travel allowance $160 per/swing 
• Paid flights from Perth 
• Paid inductions completed prior to mobilisation 
• Own room with air-conditioning and foxtel 
• Amenities - Swimming pools, tennis courts and Gym (Fitness classes) 
• Get involved in future LNG Projects and shutdown opportunities as they arise 
• Dive into both preventative and maintenance tasks 

About Ventia: 

Ventia is seeking experienced & qualified Trade Assistants. This casual role will see you working FIFO out of Perth as part of the Barrow Island Turnaround team on Chevron's 2025 turnaround (TAR 112) and as opportunities arise to join future shutdowns, campaign maintenance and frontline teams. 

What you’ll need:   

Essential   

• Undertake Fire Control and Rescue or Demonstrate Fire Attack Firefighting Equipment valid within 3 years 
• Work safely at heights valid within 3 years  
• Confined Space Entry valid within 3 years 
• Gas Test Atmosphere valid within 3 years 
• White Card 
• Drivers licence 

Desirable  

• High Risk Work Licence – EWP, FL 

What you will bring:  

• Experience as a Fire/ Hole watch within a high-risk work environment 
• Knowledge of hydrocarbon production systems and associated hazards 
• Ability to follow process & procedures and direction from Supervisors.  
• Experience in Oil & Gas, refineries and maintenance environments (Advantageous)  
• Safety – first mindset following safety protocols and hazard procedures
