About the Role
The Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) Department, takes molten iron from the Blast Furnace and converts it to steel. This is later transformed into hot rolled coil and Australian building products. The BOS Asset Team is responsible for the successful application of asset management strategies, and delivery of maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner. 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Maintenance and Repairs: Boilermakers are responsible for the maintenance and repair of  associated equipment. This includes welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components to ensure the smooth operation of the ovens.
•    Inspection: Regularly inspecting the structural integrity of related machinery to identify any wear and tear or potential issues that need addressing.
•    Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations, particularly given the high temperatures and hazardous materials involved in the steel-making process.
•    Collaboration: Working closely with other trades and team members to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
•    Problem-Solving: Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues to prevent disruptions in the production process.

What You Will Need:
•    Australian Recognised Trade Qualification (Fabrication) 

•    Recent work experience as a Boilermaker
•    Strong commitment to safe work practices
•    Working at Heights and Confined Space (desirable but not essential)
