Ventia is on the lookout for a Mechanical Tradesperson to step into the role of Equipment Specialist at the iconic Port Kembla Steelworks – right by the sea and at the heart of Australia’s steel industry.

You’ll be joining a supportive, down-to-earth team in the Coke Plant 2 – Coal & Coke Handling Asset Team, where your technical know-how and safety-first mindset will help keep things running smoothly.

What’s the Role All About?

This isn’t just another toolbox gig. You’ll be:

• Offering expert advice on equipment longevity and performance
• Leading by example and guiding your teammates
• Monitoring asset health and reporting on condition
• Supporting daily operations and shutdown planning
• Getting hands-on with inspections, isolations, and root cause analysis
• Helping shape smarter maintenance strategies

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (a must)
• Diploma of Engineering (or keen to start one)
• Solid mechanical aptitude and a knack for problem-solving
• Experience in material handling and asset maintenance
• White Card, NSW Driver’s Licence, and computer literacy
• A proactive, team-first attitude and pride in your work
• Strong communication skills – face-to-face and written
