About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumber for our Fire Services business based within the Illawarra region. Commensurate with your qualification, this position involve statutory inspection, testing & maintenance of sprinkler systems, deluge systems, hose reels, hydrants and associated wet system products, fault finding and preventative maintenance of fire systems.

What you will need:

• Have the ability to prepare written reports
• C class NSW drivers Licence
• Strong commitment to safe work practices
• Plumbing Trade Certificate
• Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident

The following will be highly desirable:

• Practical experience with Wet Fire Systems:
• Sprinkler systems, Deluge systems, Fire Hose Reels, Hydrant Systems and associated wet system products (Alarms & Panels)
• FPAS or Certificate II in Fire Protection is preferred or willing to obtain with in house training.
• Extinguishing Agent Handling Licence (entitlement 2 or 3) is preferred or willing to obtain

For more than 20 years, Ventia has had a longstanding relationship with BlueScope in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, providing plant maintenance, engineering and project services and a skilled workforce for numerous BlueScope projects, as well as fabrication facilities. We have recently renewed our contract with BlueScope for maintenance services with the addition of Fire Services at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steel Works.
